Just Have A Go
December 11, 2022It is important to study the master’s.
Everything we need to know can be found in the works of the masters from the past.
The key is knowing what to look for. Often we start out painting we don’t know what we don’t yet know. So our lack of knowledge makes it difficult to extract key lessons from other works.
As we develop our understanding of the fundamentals of good painting we start to see so much more in a painting.
This leads us to be able to gain a greater appreciation for the works of past master artists.
And we learn so much more.
In the Learn To Paint Academy, one of the programs we run for full access members is the Master’s Analysis where we take an in-depth look at master artists and their work.
If we can take one or two key ideas from each Master’s Analysis that we do, and apply it in our own work, then we can make rapid improvements.
This month’s Master’s Analysis is the English artist Edward Seago.
We take a detailed an in-depth look at his work and his approach to painting. This video is just a small sample.
For full access members of the Learn To Paint Academy (Life, Monthly & Annual Members) the Edward Seago analysis will be ready in a few days.
