Paint The Impressionists – Sneak Peek

Our brand new 7 Day Challenge “Paint The Impressionists” is coming up shortly.
At the moment I am busy filming painting projects for the challenge. In this video, we look at one of them which is a copy of the painting “Seine, Paris” by the Russian Impressionist Konstantin Korovin.
As in previous challenges we are going to have a Major Prize draw which will be a framed painting. I am considering making this one the prize.

Personally, I would love to win that painting Rod. It is stunning even though I have nothing to compare it with never having seen the original. As to your question regarding individual interest in the Impressionists Challenge, I am absolutely “in like Flynn” as they say, although my primary aim is not to win anything. I know from previous experience that my painting skills will benefit enormously from simply participating.

Rod do we choose to paint from any Impressionist painting and can we use any medium?

I love sketching with pencil mostly portraits from photographs. I have not used paints since my schooldays, at 68 that was a few years ago. I have been given paints as a gift but can’t see anything when I look at a blank canvas. Denise

I would just love to win this painting!!! I find the impressionists paintings to be the most fascinating paintings in the art world. The use of colours other than black to produce shadows and the way that highlights are created with broken brush strokes is amazing! I would be interested in the upcoming course.
