Artist Bio: It must be now 18 months since I picked up a paint brush for the first time and stumbled upon Rod Moore's  Learn To Paint Academy.   I love how his program gave me the confidence to not only try to paint, but also the pride I now feel in my ever progressing art.  I follow his basic rules with everything I paint and although I have painted from many of Rod's tutorials and courses I am now finding myself wanting to paint from my own paintings of places I have been. At 64 I also love that I actually have the time to do it.

I started with acrylic paints, then started to enjoy Water Mixable Oils, I have even dabbled in a bit of Water Colour painting, (mainly because I attended a Water colour class on a cruise that I have just come back from)  I have never sold or even tried to sell my paintings, except for a fun range of Christmas Cards I did last year which highlighted our Australian outback and each one was personalized with an 'Aussie' themed Xmas character. Had so much fun doing those and surprise surprise they sold like hot cakes.

At the moment, I am working on a painting of the Rottnest Island Lighthouse and bay, on a very large canvas, which is a total challenge for me.  However the painting I am submitting is one done from one of my first few attempts with Rod. I have however just added my  comical Emu head, which is starting to become by signature style on most Australian outback scenes that I paint. Hey its fun.
