About Ron Bryant
Ron Bryant, a native of Sydney, has always possessed a deep-seated passion for artistic expression. From an early age, he found solace and inspiration in the world of art, which ultimately shaped his professional journey.
Bryant began his career in the advertising department of a prominent Sydney department store, where he honed his creative skills. During this time, he attended East Sydney Technical College—now recognized as the National Art School of Australia—where he laid the foundational principles of art that would guide his future endeavours.
To supplement his income and further explore his artistic interests, he delved into photography, studying under a renowned Sydney photographer. This pursuit culminated in his induction into the Australian Professional Photographers Association, marking a significant milestone in his career as he successfully operated his own commercial and fashion photography business for several years.
Despite his achievements in photography, Bryant eventually ventured into various business pursuits that took him away from his creative roots. However, in 2005, he felt an undeniable pullback to his artistic side and joined a local watercolour group.
This experience reignited his passion for painting, prompting him to pursue formal studies under Master Pastelist Louise Corke PSA. In addition to Corke, he has been tutored by esteemed artists such as Herman Pekel, John Wilson, Warwick Fuller, Todd Whisson, and the late Brian Cook, each contributing to his artistic development.
Bryant’s quest for knowledge has taken him beyond Australia, as he has painted and attended workshops in Greece, England, Scotland, and the USA. These experiences have enriched his artistic perspective and broadened his creative horizons.
Today, Ron Bryant is the founder of Wisteria Fine Art Studio, located in the picturesque Moreton Bay Region of Queensland. The studio is a hub for artistic exploration, regularly hosting workshops and painting retreats that foster a love for art among participants.
With a strong commitment to sharing his knowledge, Bryant emphasises the importance of teaching and mentoring students, both in outdoor settings and within the studio. His works have garnered attention and admiration, with pieces acquired by private collectors and businesses both locally and internationally. Through his art and teachings, Ron Bryant continues to inspire others to embrace their creativity and explore the beauty of artistic expression.
The Australian Impressionist Tour is suited to all levels of artists including beginner to intermediate level painter. In order to make sure that adequate time is spent with each student through the week Rod & Ron have decided to limit the number of registrations.
This way you can be sure that there will be plenty of personal time and instruction from both Rod and Ron.
During his demonstrations Rod will be walking you through how to apply the Moore Method of Painting to the subjects being painted.
