Join Noosa artist Rod Moore in this two day workshop exploring how to capture the atmosphere and depth in landscape painting.

Painting landscapes and seascapes requires us to paint a three dimensional subject on to a two dimensional surface. To do this and capture the atmosphere and depth in the scene, master artists have for centuries used techniques of composition, values, colour temperature and saturation, and other devices to convey a sense of realism in their paintings. In this two day workshop we will explore these elements & techniques that will add more atmosphere and depth into your paintings so that they have a greater sense of realism and the wow factor.

By the end of the two days you will have a new understanding of how you can advance your painting to a higher level than before.

We will be completing a seascape painting similar to the one above over the course of the two day workshop

Suitable For Beginner To Intermediate Level

Over the course of two days we will be exploring how to use the principles of Atmospheric Perspective to create dramatic looking seascape paintings.

We will be covering:

* Composition & Design In Painting
* Understanding The Key Elements of Atmospheric Perspective
* Values and Why They Are Important
* Colour & Colour Mixing - Temperature & Saturation
* Importance of Edges
* Focal Points in Paintings

Plus you will also learn how to approach painting using the Moore Method of Painting already taught to hundreds in workshops and more than 70,000 students online globally.

BONUS Video Instruction - As part of your booking you will receive a FREE course "Learn To Paint Introduction" at the Learn To Paint Academy, and the 5 Day Challenge "Moore Method of Painting" course. These two complimentary courses will be ideal primers to go through prior to the workshop.

You can paint in Acrylics, Oils or Water Mixable Oils (Note - If using traditional oils you must bring no odour solvents)

About Rod

Rod Moore is a contemporary impressionist artist based in Noosa. His paintings are collected globally and he is known for his loose, bold & expressive style of landscape painting. Rod is the founder of the Learn To Paint Academy and has taught hundreds of people in workshops, and more than 70,000 people online, to learn to paint with his easy to follow Moore Method of Painting.

Rod Moore Artist Statement

Rod’s work is inspired by the natural beauty of Australia from the bush to the beaches. For the last decade he has sought to capture the essence of nature's fullest expression of herself.

Where once he was focused on painting with a realism approach, today he is inspired to capture the atmosphere, emotion and feeling that creates a sense of place. Details of the landscape give way to broader brush strokes, bolder colours and the interplay of lights and darks.

Rod spends endless hours on location capturing, recording and collating information to be utilised in the studio as inspiration for larger works. Studies painted en plein air stimulate the creative energies and fuel his imagination. This quest to draw inspiration from the environment around him facilitates the creative process where the work flows through him onto the canvas.

Rod’s end goal is to inspire the viewer of his work to feel a sense of awe and wonder, a spiritual connection, to the land and place we call Australia
