Getting Ready For The Acrylic Painting Bootcamp

Thanks very much for joining us for the Acrylic Painting Bootcamp.

Here is what you need to know to get ready and answers to the frequently asked questions:

Question - When Does The Acrylic Painting Bootcamp Start?

The Acrylic Painting Bootcamp starts immediately after you register. There is no set time and date for the challenge. You will be notified via email with the links to access once you have registered so please check your emails.

Question - How Do I Access The Acrylic Painting Bootcamp?

You will receive access to the Acrylic Painting Bootcamp via email. In the email each day will be links to the video lesson for the day. Click the link to watch the video.

Question - I Can't Find The Email or I Have Missing Emails?

Firstly it is important you entered the right email address at the time you registered. Did you receive the registration email at the time of registering? If not then you may have entered the wrong email address so you will need to register again.

If you are missing emails with links to some of the days videos then please check your Inbox by doing a search for the missing day (ie "Day 3"). And also please check your spam or junk mail folder as emails do sometimes end up there.

Question - Do I Have To Complete It Over 5 Days?

No ... you can take the challenge at any time and at a time and place that suits you. Just save up the emails and access when you are ready.

Question - How Do I Share My Assignments From The Challenge?

To share your assignments you will want to register for the Learn To Paint Community. After you register your account needs to be approved so there may be some time delay to approve your account.

Once approved you can log in and then look for the Group titled "Acrylic Painting Bootcamp".

You can post your assignments in that group.

Question - What Paints Do I Need?

You will need the following colours for the challenge:

- Ultramarine Blue
- Alizarin Crimson (or Crimson, Permanent Crimson or Magenta)
- Yellow Ochre
- Lemon Yellow (or Cadmium Yellow Light)
- Pythalo Green (or Viridian)

- Titanium White

You should be able to find these colours in most of the major brands of acrylics.

If you wish to use different paints on your palette than the above then you may do so but please be aware that your results will vary from that demonstrated.

Question - What Brushes Do I Need?

You can use the brushes you already have.

Rod mostly uses synthetic flat brushes. He has a large 1" appx sized one for the block in stage, a medium size 1/2", and a small one for lines and details.

Additionally Rod uses a script liner brush (watercolour) also referred to as a rigger brush for details.

And Rod some times uses a palette knife however there is no requirement for you to use one for the 5 day challenge.

Question - What Canvases Do I Need & What Sizes?

You will need 4 or 5 canvases. We recommend using a smaller size such as 8" x 10"
